What are the age-related health issues patients can have-
With the increase in age, the body and organs become weak and they do not function like before which can lead to various health issues such as
Cardiac Problems-
With the increase in age many cardiac problems can occur like –
- Increase in cholesterol levels which can lead to decreased blood supply to the part of the heart due to blockage.
- Hypertension is high blood pressure in the patient.
- Ischemic Heart disease
- Cardiac Failure is when the heart is not able to pump the blood as required by the patient.
Respiratory Problems-
With aging the lungs become weak leading to poor oxygen exchange between the Alveoli and blood which leads to breathing difficulties.
Patients who suffer from Asthma, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Lung Disease), and other lung diseases get more severe breathing difficulties in old age due to weak respiratory muscles.
Kidney Problems-
Sometimes old age patients have bladder problems and may find difficulties in passing urine, which can lead to a collection of urine in the body. This may lead to the building up of waste material in the body which can damage kidneys.
Endocrine problems-
Diabetes is one of the most serious problems which can occur in old age or can get worse in old age.
With an increase in the blood sugar level, other organs of the body like the Kidney, Liver, and Brain can get damaged. This in turn can cause death due to multi-organ failure.
